چکیده

9.1.1 The Optimization Setup Let G = G(s) be a matrix-valued function bounded on the jθ-axis. The task of Hankel ˆ optimal model reduction of G calls for finding a stable LTI system G of order less than a given positive integer m, such that the Hankel norm ∞∞H of the difference = G − Ĝ is minimal. Remember that Hankel norm of an LTI system with transfer matrix = (s), input w, and output v, is defined as the L2 gain of the associated Hankel operator H, i.e. as the maximum of the “future output energy integral”

Science 6 . 245 : MULTIVARIABLE CONTROL SYSTEMS

So far, the optimization methods under consideration were presented for the continuous time case. This lecture describes a technique which allows one to apply the continuous time algorithms of H2 optimization, H-Infinity optimization, and Hankel optimal model reduction to discrete time systems. The technique is based on applying the familiar “Tustin” (or “bilinear”) CT to DT transformation. Whi...

Optimal Model Order Reduction For Maximal Real Part Norms

An observation is made that a polynomial time algorithm exists for the problem of optimal model order reduction of nite order systems in the case when the approximation error measure to be minimized is de ned as maximum of the real part of the model mismatch transfer function over a certain set of frequencies. Applications to H-In nity model reduction and comparison to the classical Hankel mode...

6.245: Multivariable Control Systems Fundamentals of Model Order Reduction 8.1 Setting up a Model Order Reduction Problem

8.1 Setting Up A Model Order Reduction Problem This section describes a number of different ways of setting up a model reduction problem. In contrast with the case of LTI feedback optimization, when the most natural problem formulation has a satisfactory solution (H2 or H-Infinity optimization via Riccati equa tions), no efficient solution is known for the most natural formulation of the model...

MIT EECS 6 . 241 ( FALL 2006 ) LECTURE NOTES BY A . MEGRETSKI 18 Kalman - Yakubovich - Popov Lemma

Kalman-Yakubovich-Popov (KYP) Lemma (also frequently called “positive real lemma”) is a major result of the modern linear system theory. It is a collection of statements related to existence and properties of quadratic storage functions for LTI state space models and quadratic supply rates. The KYP Lemma is used in the derivation of H2 and H-Infinity optimal controllers, Hankel optimal reduced ...
